locally this morning it is quiet but the stuff down in raleigh, that's moving to the north northeast and that's what i think could be getting here in few hours. as you look at the doppler radar this morning just an isolated shower or two. heaviest stuff near annapolis. now with monika samtani on this friday morning, timesaver traffic. i saw a camera back there the beltway ugly. >>> yeah so ugly and i can't believe it's only 5:00 in the morning. but, hence it's washington. and u know, but normally on friday mornings we don't deal with this. today is a different story. let's take a look live on the inner loop of the beltway before route 355. take a look at this. this delay now begins right through bethesda heading eastbound toward route 355. and it doesn't even look like anything is moving right now. and that's because there are two tractor-trailers, two separate accidents got involved there before route 355. wreckers on the scene, t it's going to take a little while to clean this up. i believe one of the accidents involves a fuel spill now as well. so keep that in mind for your travel

the governor was saying they had to send in the national guard and several local law enforcement, local fire department, they all had to go in and help rescue several people that were trapped in oak orchard. hopefully they're doing all right. i haven't heard back about what their conditions are. but again that's about 15 miles south of here from rehoboth beach. a little bit more good news to talk about. no power outages. widespread in this area. there were about 2,000 across the state of delaware overnight. some of that power has been restored. some is still out. but no terrible power outages to speak of just yet. i have to say i know it's going to get a lot worse but so far the wind and rain hasn't been too bad. i think the big story here is just going to be the duration of this, how long it's going to last and as i said, this all started around 4:00 yesterday. we still have about 36 hours to go. i think it's going to get ugly but hopefully everybody here is going to be just final. no people out on the streets. no cars driving on the roads. that's exactly what we want to see here atra

that one has not come across our radar here inside the print room but one local paper, the arkansas, democrat gazette where i -- in the same town where i used to work, the headline obama feistier. romney keeps up. tension rises as debate hits the hot issues. so what we're seeing in all these headlines this morning is essentially there was no huge blow yao winner. there was no big knockout punch from this second debate, but by most accounts, obama, as you can see from these headlines, he really seemed to have the edge. he was on the attack. he was on the offensive. he seemed much more engaged, much more energetic than in the first debate and he really came out and delivered. he did what he needed to do. as for romney, he didn't have any big mistakes and his campaign is saying that he did very well. by all accounts most republicans are very pleased with his performance. but i do think right now at least the edge is going to have to go to owe bam madam president we'll have to -- to obama. we'll have to wait and see how this translates into the polls in the days and weeks to come. jessic
